Thought this might be interesting to Battle Axe members
Monte Cassino in the background. Castle Hill just behind me. Rifle platoon was up there and my morter platoon from what I can remember was down in the gully to the right of me

Ray - not only Battleaxe members but there were others of us there for a while though I was lucky enough to just pass through on the way to Pontecorvo - Arce - and Frosinone.Looks peaceful now though and the Monastery in shining white looks much better.
