A nice surprise from HMS Maidstone
I have just found this postcard behind another photo I was checking to see if it had any writing on the back. It has added another piece of the jigsaw that was my "Uncle Jimmy".
Boabble - Your uncle Jimmy was certainly well connected in 1939 - not too many people would have had one of these cards from Christmas - your time would indicate PST ???
Boabbie - That's the easiest one I've had for a long time - Iswitched over last night and caught your message at about 11:40 p.m. PST - which is Pacific Standard Time as opposed to GMT - Greenwich etc so I thought that you must be a resident of the west coast of North America - as I am ! - Tom your message stated you had posted at 11.32 p.m.......
What an interesting collection of photographs and cards you have! It is as good as I have seen. Many museums won't have as good a collection. You should make sure you have made copies for your own use or other family members.
