A Proud young man.
Take a look at this young man .It seems the Dutch have better memories than us Brits.

What a cracking clip !
Thanks for letting us see it
Ron
Couldn't get the clip but I would assume that the Dutch were showing their gratitude for the efforts of the Canadian five divisions which liberated their country in 1944-45 - as they do annually in sending thousands of flower bulbs to Canadian towns and villages to refresh their "Dutch" gardens - which most of them have as a special area of remembrance of those days.
shame you could not get the little bit of film Tom It showed a little lad of aboput 6 or 7 in full scottish Canadian uniform by the road side saluting the marchers on the Knocke Heist march undertaken annually by a contingent of the Scottish Canadian Regiment. It also has links to a comprehensive photo gallery of the march.

sorry for the mistakes in the previous comment .It should read "Canadian Scottish"
Thank you to Ron and Boabbie for that clip - it is a wonderful thing on the part of the Dutch people that they continue to hold the Canadians in such high regard
The main farmers in the Fraser valley where I live was made up of many Dutch Immigrants who made this whole area into a most fertile and happy community and still to-day we have in the spring hundreds of acres devoted to the raising of Tulips and it is quite a sight to see along the main Highways.
Sadly they are giving way to the Sikh's who unfortunately have brought much of their less respected culture to the area along with a determination that this valley should become their
political and utopian Khalistan.
No doubt the common sense of Canadians will sort this lot out in due time - hopefully before we give all the land over to the indigenious Indians !
Seems I have run into an error on the blog - on acomment to Ron's posting .. which the support group are looking into at this time - I was thanking Ron for his assistance in regaining the clip and asking if he had noticed the parade leader's return salute...?
They have abandoned the British Salute of "long way up - short way down- palm outward - fingers one inch above right eye" " and replaced it with the typical American style - palm down and close to the right eye.
This might have something to do with the apparent loss of discipline now a days with subsequent rise in casualties.
