Josephine -
DO NOT WORRY - you are not alone as I had the exact same instructions when i wanted to edit my profile - it didn't work then - and it still DOES NOT WORK - sooooo
1) - click on your name
2) - on the top LH corner you will see a stylised B in white on a red background with the word "BLOGGER" alongside - click on that
3) - now you will find a page and near the top RH it is asking you to register - so DO IT name and password - sgin in
4) - now you have a page named "Dashboard" and near the RH TOP side is a BLUE panel which states - "EDIT MY PROFILE"
click on that panel and you will have the profile come up and you can EDIT your head off - always finish by clicking on the "SAVE" panel
.....that should do it - if not THEN DO IT ALL AGAIN.
Cheers - print this out and READ IT CAREFULLY

Your problem and Tom's answer has help fill a lacuna in the FAQ.

I have now given a very detailed guide on how to log/sign in. I had wrongly assumed that you were already signed in. Please re-read the FAQ.

Josephine -
now that you have clicked on the WHITE "B" in the red background and got to the signing in bit - your password should be in the LOWER case - that is holland - NOT HOLLand - once that is cleared - submit - THEN the dashboard will come up and from there you can EDIT your profile ! - try it ! Keep everything in the English language - many Americans still understand it !

Remember that your username is odyssey2, then be carefull with your password.

NO, Tom and Josephine

Your PASSWORD should be EXACTLY as you chose it, if it is in 'CAPITALS' then enter them, if it is in 'lower case', then enter it like that. If it is a mixture, for example only, hoLLaNd, then enter it precisely like that.

We have an old English proberb that goes "Too many cooks spoil the broth" so I'm going to leave you in the capable hands of Peter and Tom.
The only piece of advice I'm going to give you is that when you DO sort out your problems do NOT log out, for any reason.
You are not posting any financial or personal details on this site so why bother to log in or out at any time?
When the dust has settled I will come back and we can talk about what life was like for you in WW2.

Best wishes

Ron

Ron and PETER! I wrote my password down!! and they still say it is wrong!!! Should i ask for a new password written differently???this drives me to distraction!! How come both username and password were found to be fine and now not???

RON I never log out!!~Thanks for your help!!
I have an idea that this problem will NOT be solved if they don't accept my password that I wrote DOWN. I grew up with the Odyysey and never will forget the name of the author!!It is an easy one anyway!
when we wanted to look up a word : the prof. said:"Don't use the "sewer" that is what he called a dictionary:
we could use a dictionary only if we could not translate the sentence without knowing the meaning of thay word.

There's no one behind the scenes, the blog is programmed to check user names and passwords, it does NOT make mistakes.

Being entirely logical,if you misspell your username the password will be rejected, since it does not match the associated username.

Enter your username carefully 'odyssey2', then your password.

Do NOT discuss your password here the entire world can see it, although once you are sorted out I shall delete these entries.

Check the FAQ, I have made several alterations.

Here's a sobering thought for you. There are millions of Bloggers world-wide on over 800,000 blogs. How come they are all able to sign in?

PETER, i wrote the password down ; it is 7 letters and all lower key.
I tried all capital letters and the first letter as it is like a last name: the first letter is usually written as a capital letter; NOTHING WAS ACCEPTED/. I SENT IN A NOTE WITH PLEASE " RETRIEVE MY Password!" they were goingt to send an email with instructions but NO Email was sent maybe because it is night time in the UK.??

Google are very helpful with lost passwords (I know you haven't 'lost' it, but check it all the same).

Read the FAQ on recovering a password or username. Google will email your personal membership data to you. It could well be that what you think is your current password isn't.

You seem to have got yourself two identities: ron goldstein and ex 4th hussar.

You are logged out of one and logged in with the other.

Click on the all-important white B Blogger icon in the top left. That will take you to the Dashboard page.

Then look at the top right. You will see, if you are signed in of course, an option to sign out.
