Additional information

HMS Honjo (FY 661)

H.M.S. Honjo (FY 661) was a trawler that had been launched in 1928. It was taken over by the Admiralty in October 1939. She was armed with 1 x 12-pounder Anti-Aircraft gun.

On 18 January 1942, while in Gibraltar Harbour she was sunk by saboteurs, as was H.M.S. Erin. Two of her crew lost their lives and were laid to rest in Gibraltar North Front Cemetery. H.M.S. Honjo was not repaired. Her service with the Royal Navy ended the same day as these two crewmates lost their lives.
