At first sight this does seem to be a shortcoming. But on reflection it is probably intentional. It stops people altering what they have said in an argument, after a Commment has been commented on.
So to recap, here are the powers I have on this blog:
I can alter the Template of the blog. I can edit any post. I can remove any post. I can remove any comment. I cannot edit any comment, including my own comments.
Peter Whilst posting the 'Front Page' item, I inadvertently posted it twice, probably as a result of being impatient whilst 'saving' the posting. The result was that I now had two images on the screen. I realised what I'd done, went into the edit mode and simply removed the duplicate paragraph of code. To my smug astonishment it put matters right before you had the chance to point out my stupidity !
Peter - followed your advice re clicking RH to save a picture - tried it on Frank's "None shall pass ' Pic - and it worked - I now have that stalwart Briton in my pics folder for all time as a memento as how the Brits were magnanimous in victory - as one Winston S Churchill - Ron's boss - had suggested !

Well done, Ron. The more tests and trials we do the better.
By the way, I noticed last night that the edit pencil icon had vanished again, this time from all comments and I couldn't even edit my own.
At first I thought I might have overdone tinkering with the code. To test this I started another blog, but there were no edit icons there either.
Hope this is fixed soon. Can you edit your posts and comments here and on your family blog?
Peter
I clicked on the magic REFRESH button and Bingo ! the edit pencil appears
Ron
Thank you Ron for that plug of the front page - I shall try to keep this but - as you know my expertise in these matters is minimal
Cheers

Ron
I see the Edit icon on the Posts but not on the Comments. Do you see the icon on this page?
Just discovered this in the Comments FAQ:
Can I edit or delete individual comments?
While comments aren't editable, they can be deleted.

You can just right click on any image to save it to your PC, or click on the 'floppy' icon if one appears.

I might even get to enjoy blogging :)
