If I may add my welcome to Gerry Chester, a one time colleague from the 25th Tank Bde and more particulary from the North Irish Horse, who finally replaced the 145th regt RAC when we were - dis-established - at Cesena in the December of 1944
and the 21st Tank Bde was therefore strengthened to finish the war.
Gerry has a wonderful web site extolling the vitues of the Churchill Tank - in all it's Marks
and some spectacular photo's of the ascent to Longstop Hill which opened the door to the final battle of the North African Campaign. Also many photo's of the Battle of the Gustav Line which opened the door for the liberation of Rome. Gerry spend his days shuttling between Arizona
and the Island of Bali where his daughter has a villa, Bali - he tells me that Bali has many topless beaches which I would think is a very great incentive for him to visit his daughter.
Welcome Gerry and I look forward to a long association once more .
