Midshipman Maurice Robinson Dennison, RAFVR (1922 - 1942) served in the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve during WW2. He was attached to HMS Condor, a shore-based unit near Arbroath. He was 19 years old when he died of wounds sustained as the result of an accident
Midshipman Dennison was the son of Robert Dennison and Elsie Dennison (nee Robinson) of Keswick. The inscription on his headstone in St John's Churchyard, Keswick reads as follows:
"In loving remembrance of
MAURICE ROBINSON DENNISON
Midshipman, F.A.A., R.N.V.R.
who died of wounds on active service
July 12th 1942
Aged 19 years".
