You might find this website Engagements 1941 of interest.
The site is primarily about the 7th Armoured Division, but scroll down to 'ROMMELS FIRST ATTACK (March - April 1941)', there you will find a good account of what happened to 2nd Armd Div.

thank you for that history - it puts it all into perspective and shows how Gambier-Parry threw in the towel at Melechi and thus finished off the 2nd Armoured div which never reared it's head again all through the war.
The Sidi Resigh battle was of great interest as this was where a Brigadier came upon a trooper and asked " what is going on ?" - the trooper replied - "Oh the usual Sir - the 3rd versus the 3rd."
when asked to clarify he went on - " the 3rd tanks versus the 3rd reich "!
