Adding your photo to your Profile, revisited
I have put together a flash demo, go to the FAQ, go to the relevant question, then click on the green Play Demo button. Sit back with a coffee and watch. Then get cracking!

That's because you are all young-looking handsome devils. :)
'I have put together a flash demo'?
Very flash.....I would say !
Well done that man with his flash demo - even I could follow it - ....I think !
Well guys,
Every time I attempt to attach my photo to the profile it will not do so! The site keeps taking me to amend my Personal Page but it will not attach the photo I have saved in the place where I have saved my photos. There is a lot of jargon I do not understand!
Hello yet again guys,
Well, I have watched Peter's Demo 6 times, followed it through step by step 6 times, but it still does not work by attaching a photo.
When I get to the stage where it has uploaded a photo and I click 'Done' the URL lettering stays in the little 'edit' box for about 1/2 second, THEN the selected photo appears. However quick I try to highlight the appropriate part of the URL lettering it disappears and my photo appears instead. So, I am left without the 'URL address' for the photograph to go on 'My Proifile'.
I can't see why the site makes it so difficult to get a photo attached for participating in the discussions. it is very droll I feel. Yet when I log on to 'Blogger' it shows photo I attached to 'My Profile' weeks ago, although this does not transfer on to the Second Worlsd War Blog.
There is no such thing as a hard question or a hard task. It is only the answers or knowing what to do that is difficult. I think you will have to do without my photo folks. It's not that brilliant anyway! Unless anybody can suggest what to do next?
Hi Ritsonvaljos
You say that When I get to the stage where it has uploaded a photo and I click 'Done' the URL lettering stays in the little 'edit' box for about 1/2 second, THEN the selected photo appears.
I have tried to duplicate your steps to see the problem you are having, but I can't. When you have uploaded the photo and clicked Done you are taken back to the Post space (where you enter your post) and there you now see some HTML code with the URL embedded in it. It cannot possibly flash off in half a second for the simple reason that even if you wished to post it you cannot do so until you have entered the security word verification lettering. Failing that it will remain on screen until you switch off your PC, if need be. For how else would you be able to attach a message or story of any photo you wished to Post?
You yourself have just Posted an article titled Over the wire complete with a graphic. When you typed that post, you typed it under the HTML code which positions the graphic and which includes the graphic's URL. If you enter the Edit mode for that post you can see the code above your text.
Please do have another go, it is far easier than you make out. I look forward to seeing you. :)
I've updated the Flash Demo, clarifying one or two minor points.
Hello again Peter and others,
Thanks again for your assistance. I've had another go at adding my photo to my 'profile'. I've also used your 'cropped' photo and there now seems to be less than 68 characters in the URL code.
If this attempt has worked, then I assume my photo will appear with this comment!
... and so it has. :)
Well done!
By the way, Joe, you said If this attempt has worked, then I assume my photo will appear with this comment!
This seems to indicate that you were not sure at that stage what would or wouldn't appear.
Personally I never Post or send a Comment without first looking at it both for content and layout in Preview. This is a facility which I didn't cover in the FAQ, so this is a reminder to everyone of it. You can, of course, use it dozens of times on the same text until you are happy with it before sending it off.
In this particular case, had you checked in Preview you would have seen your photo thumbnail.
But all's well that ends well, so happy blogging from now on. :)
Thanks very much for the advice!
